Being born on the outskirts of Dartmoor National Park, and with the beautiful countryside of Cornwall just being on the other side of the Tamar River which is the border between the 2 counties, her love for landscape painting is easy to understand. Miss Baskerville distinguished herself at school through her art, and family and teachers knew that she would make painting her life. Wendy then moved to Brussels(Belgium) where she attended the "Academy Royal des Beaux Arts", one of the best renowned art schools in the world. Her gift to paint water and skies became obvious to her tutors at a very early stage. After graduating with honours Wendy travelled the world to be inspired by all different kinds of landscapes, colours and lights. Was it the rolling hills of her home country, the pastel colours of the south of France or Portugal, or the beautiful light in the sky on the American coast to name but a few of the influences on her paintings. Wendy Baskerville loves nature, untouched by man. Though landscape painting is one of her favourite subjects, it is by no means her only one. Experimenting with different ideas and techniques are just as much part of her work. The paintings shown on this website are just a few examples of her work. Many more are available as originals or as prints. If you would like any more information please contact her at the e-mail address shown below. Wendy is a very versatile painter and enjoys painting commissions. A popular favourite is of golf courses.
